Is it time for a detox?
We’re exposed to more toxins in our diet, environment and lifestyle than ever before.
These toxins can accumulate in your body, negatively impact all aspects of your health and keep you from getting results –– even if you’re exercising, sleeping well and trying to eat healthy.
So I always feel like it’s time for a detox –– I’ve probably done more detoxes than most practitioners in the country.
And after working with thousands of patients through the years, I've developed an all natural 3-step detoxification plan to help you shed excess toxins fast so you can start living and feeling better.
So let’s get started.
Phase 1: Remove Water-Soluble Toxins
When detoxing, one of the fastest ways to get toxins out of the body is to target water-soluble toxins first.
One thing I like to say is “dilution is the solution for pollution.”
And what’s your body’s filtration system? Your kidneys.
Part of your kidneys’ job is to remove waste and toxins from your blood, and to do that hydration is key.
You want to try to drink half your body weight in ounces.
So if you weigh 140 lbs, aim to drink at least 70 ounces of water.
For more detox benefits and even faster results, you can add fresh lemon to your water and a pinch of Himalayan sea salt. These electrolytes can help you hydrate faster and therefore pull those water soluble toxins out even quicker.
And you’ll know you’ve got happy kidneys when you begin to see clear urine and are going to the bathroom roughly every hour.
You can start Phase 1 of your detox right now. So go ahead, pour a glass of water and come back when you’re ready to begin Phase 2...
Phase 2: Fat-Soluble Detoxing
Fat soluble toxins are the really nasty toxins that we can’t get rid of by just drinking more water.
They’re the reason why many people gain weight even when they’re cutting calories …. Or struggle to sleep even if they’re exhausted.
In order to get rid of these, we need to focus on cleansing the liver.
To detox the liver, the first thing we have to stop putting in our mouth is gluten, dairy and refined sugar –– inflammatory foods.
And for best results, consider doing one or all of these:
- Reduce your caffeine consumption. Just for a week. Maybe have your morning coffee and that’s it.
- Cut out the alcohol. Alcohol makes your liver work in overdrive. To really help with fat-soluble cleansing, try cutting it out for 7-14 days completely.
- Drink celery juice. It’s a powerful ingredient for pulling out excess toxins and oxidants from the blood and bowels.

As you begin taking steps to cleanse your liver, you can begin Phase 3...
Phase 3: Organ Detoxing
The hardest place to remove toxins is from your deeper tissues and organs.
These are the toxins that can lead to dysfunction within your organ, neuro endocrine, digestive and detoxification systems.
Diet is the only way to begin rebuilding the very core of your cells and pull the toxins out.
So the first step is to stop putting toxins in through your diet. That means replacing any toxic or nonorganic foods with cleaner, more natural options.
And if you eat meat, make sure it’s free-range, wild-caught, and organic.
Remember, you are what you eat.
